Imelda May to reprise role in popular Irish play this summer

She’s back!

Yes, Imelda May is set to reprise her role as Kathleen this summer in the hit play, The Mother Of All Behans.

Based on the book by Brian Behan, the play has been adapted and directed for the stage by Peter Sheridan and traces the story of his ‘inspirational’ mother Kathleen.

The show, which will return to Dublin’s 3Olympia Theatre, is scheduled for a limited run from July 29 to August 2, 2025.

Previously speaking about the production, Imelda said: “The life of Kathleen Behan, Brendan’s Mammy, is so enthralling I just had to do it.

“And the opportunity to work with the amazing Peter Sheridan in this new production is such a wonderful way to tell her story.

“I feel passionately about this play, this story, this period of our history and culture and most importantly this woman,” she noted.

“I feel Kathleen’s spirit in me and I feel like I’m supposed to tell her story.”

Following sold-out performances in 2023 and 2024 in both Dublin and Cork, fans will now get the chance to once again witness this brilliant piece of theatre.

Tickets are priced from €21.50 and are currently available to purchase from Ticketmaster.

So act quickly folks…

As this is one show you won’t want to miss.
