2020 has been a difficult year for all of us, made especially hard by not being able to see friends and family, something that’s even harder at Christmas.
Some people were able to take the necessary precautions to see family over the festive season and Imelda May shared her joy at being able to visit her Mum, who has dementia.
Sharing a photo of when they were reunited alongside an emotional caption she said; “After early Dec flight, isolation and negative COVID test I got to see my beloved parents.”
“It’s been almost a year and I feared I might not see Mam again. Dementia is a cruel disease so I was delighted she knew me and said “you’re here at last!!! I’ve been looking for you everywhere. That feels better” it’s the best Christmas present I could’ve dreamed of.”
The singer continued; “My heart is overflowing. I wish you all a wonderful Christmas and hold on to the hope we’ll all be reunited soon.”
“Keep safe. Keep strong. Keep loving. Happy Christmas wherever you may be.”
We hope Imelda and her family got to have a really special Christmas together.
