Vogue Williams has revealed that she received death threats following her comments regarding internment camps for potential terror suspects.
The Dublin model admitted that she agreed with comments made by former police chief Tarique Ghaffur suggesting that internment camps were the way to deal with terror suspects.
“The only way to stop these senseless attacks is to put any potential threats away.” Vogue wrote in her column for The Sunday World.
Since then, the 31-year-old has received huge backlash online and she has now revealed that she was the victim of “death threats, hate, and pure vilification.”
“After reflecting more deeply, I understand that suggesting internment camps – ie imprisonment without trial – was a misguided opinion. Vogue wrote today.
“Everyone has the right to a fair trial and to be heard and I of course do not believe in a dictatorship type of government.”
