As the news emerged yesterday that Hugh Hefner passed away, many people took to social media to pay tribute to the Playboy founder.
One person who wasn’t singing his praises however, is Ryan Tubridy.
The presenter explained that he was never a fan of the 91-year-old.
“I didn’t like him at all,” he said, before joking: “I was never at the Playboy mansion, I never got an invite, maybe that’s what it’s all about? Maybe I feel left down.”
On a more serious note Ryan explained that he said Hefner didn’t represent society today.
“But it does, particularly given the last five years and the way society has moved, he does seem to represent something from a past very, very far away now.”
“It does seem to have been Jurassic in that dinosaur way he became at the end.”
The Late Late show host added that he found the Playboy Mansion and Playboy Bunnies particularly strange.
“That whole smoking jacket and young women around him in this weird house. [We] will look back on it in years to come and say: ‘It just was a very peculiar story'”.
“Obviously rest in peace and all that, but wasn’t one for me. I don’t mean that in a prudish way by any means, it just feels like it is another day’s work altogether.”
Meanwhile Irish celebs Rosanna Davison and Jenny Dixon paid tribute to him on social media.
