Ed Sheeran has admitted that he struggled with his success in the early days of his career.
The 26 year old has sold out worldwide tours and topped album charts since his career took off back in 2011.
Speaking on BBC 4’s radio show Desert Island Discs, the Castle on the Hill singer revealed that he didn’t cope very well with the pressure when starting out, and turned to partying.
“I don’t think I did deal very well with it. On tour I will admit I did lose myself for a bit,” he said.
“Playing a venue with 87,000 people and walking off to a dressing room with nothing but an air conditioning sound, you don’t really know how to come down.
“You can’t really not go mental in that setting,” he added.
Thankfully, Ed’s excessive partying days are behind him now!
