Hozier reveals Valentine’s date from hell

He’s certainly not a fan of this holiday.

This sounds awful

While many people love Valentine’s Day, top Irish singer, Hozier, certainly isn’t one of those.

The Wicklow native had a horrific Valentine’s date a few years ago, which has turned him completely off the day.

Opening about his date from hell, Hozier told the Irish Daily Mail, “We didn’t know one another all that well – nothing came of it at the end – but we sat in a restaurant at a table next to a couple and they fought. It was some a**hole of a dude who was really mean to his date until she cried and they had to pack up quickly.

“It was such a spectacle that every table around us had hushed and the whole restaurant was beholden to this black hole of misery and listened to this real piece of s**t.

“My heart broke for that poor woman on the receiving end of it.

Definitely a date from hell...
It was a horrible situation

“Then an ex of mine, who I was still at the time very broken-hearted over, was there with another date, so I was looking over at this ex who my heart was in ribbons over and next to me was this awful catastrophic scene unfolding in front of me.

“That was the last time I really tried anything on Valentine’s Day. That pressure to have a good time is just so dreadful so no, I’m not a very big fan of the day,” he said.

Yikes!

Meanwhile, Hozier has been working alongside Saoirse Ronan for his new charity single, “Cherry Wine”, which will aim to highlight the issue of domestic abuse.
