Holly Carpenter is no stranger to public displays of affection, seeing as two of her longterm relationships were with Irish rugby player Cian Healy, and most recently with Coronas frontman Danny O’Reilly.
Although the 25-year-old considers herself lucky because she’s never had her heart broken, she does admit that the public eye adds extra pressure.
In an exclusive interview with VIP Magazine, Holly reveals how it felt to have everyone know about her break-up from Danny when she was still trying to come to terms with it, and also when the rumours about him reuniting with with Laura Whitmore surfaced.
“I’m actually kind of relieved when it goes public. You can stop holding your breath about when people are going to find out. Then the comments and the theories start, and that’s nearly worse than the articles themselves.
“Luckily I’ve never been in a situation where my heart was broken or I was treated badly. As a girl, you do get questioned about the break-up more, which can be annoying, but it’s all part and parcel.
“I didn’t really take notice, to be honest. I’d be surprised if there was anything happening there (between Danny and Laura), but who knows? I’m not really one for keeping tabs on my exes! I’m just happy to focus on myself at the moment,” she said.
The Raheny native is adopting a positive attitude when it comes to future romances, but she has vowed to keep any details private from now on.
“I think I’ll stay quiet about my love life from now on. I’ll definitely be keeping any future relationships private! But I will say that I’m just happy to focus on myself at the moment,” she said.
