Model Holly Carpenter has admitted that she lies about her job when she meets new people. The 25-year-old doesn’t know what to say when strangers ask her what she does for a living.
Speaking to the Irish Mirror, Holly said that because her career spans the areas of modelling, writing and presenting she’s unsure of what to say- so instead she tells a fib!
“When I meet someone on holidays and they ask me what I do I genuinely don’t know what to say.
“I don’t want to say I’m a blogger or a model, I do a bit of TV but I can’t say I’m a presenter and I’ve a column but I can’t say I’m a journalist.
“I usually just bluff it and tell them I’m something completely different like a physiotherapist,” she said.

Although the Howth native is signed to Andrea Roche’s modelling agency, she revealed that she’s taking a step back from modelling, to focus on new projects.
“Early this year I had a conversation with Andrea and I said there are certain types of jobs I don’t want to do anymore.
“I’m 25 and I wanted to start looking at the bigger picture, like launching new products or getting into TV.
“For me I was in NCAD when I became Miss Ireland. It was never that I really wanted to be a model, it just happened.
“Because I was only 19 when it happened, I’ve had five years of it and now I want to move on,” she said.
