U2 frontman Bono has said that President Donald Trump is not welcome at their US gigs.
Bono, along with his U2 band mates, are touring the states for their 30 year anniversary this year.
Speaking to The Irish Mirror, the 57-year-old said “People who voted for Trump are welcome here but he’s not”.
The Dubliner explained that was President Trump’s decision to cut funding for HIV research that made the choice easy for him.
“Bill Gates will be here tonight, he will tell you ‘but that doesn’t work guys.’ He can’t level it off because people will die”.
The Dalkey man also spoke about having to leave his home and family to go on tour.
“Only recently I realised I had a home and it was Dublin,” he said. “I often do walk through the house at night, and walk in and see the kids while they’re asleep and I just felt I really like being at home. That makes it harder to leave.”
