Martin King has officially wrapped up filming his new documentary, We Need To Talk About Dementia, which is set to air this weekend.
In the new show Martin will look back how a dementia diagnosis impacted his late mum’s life – as well as the family as a whole.
Martin Snr passed away just a month prior to his mum Christina in 2019, and Martin admits they struggled to share the news with her as she’d have to relive the grief and trauma on a daily or weekly basis. But before long, she put two and two together.

The presenter admits revisiting these memories in the documentary was incredibly tough – but necessary, as he hopes to draw awareness.
Sharing a behind the scenes snap with his family and the crew, Martin said, “This is Alzheimer’s awareness week. We finished filming last night on our documentary ‘We Need to Talk About Dementia’.
“I got to sit down with some of the family for a chat about it and met some inspiring people along the way.”
You can catch the show on Virgin Media One this Sunday at 8pm.
