Today is expected to be the worse of Storm Emma and The Beast from the East, but it’s not stopping here.
While it will begin to calm down over the week, it will remain very wet and cold.
Tonight (Friday)
Tonight is set to be very cold. There will be more snow, especially over the midlands, north and eastern counties. It will be mostly of rain further south.
There will be dry spells too.
Met Eireann said: “Minimum temperatures zero to -3 degrees coldest inland. A sharp frost and icy patches widely. Fresh east winds.”
Tomorrow (Saturday)
Saturday will be mostly cloudy. There will be outbreaks of sleet, and still some chance of snowfall over ‘high ground and in the north.’
Met Eireann added: “Precipitation increasingly as rain by afternoon. Fresh east winds. Highest temperatures ranging from 2 in the north to 6 or 7 degrees in the far south.”
Sunday
Cold weather will continue on Sunday, so stay wrapped up well!
Highest temperatures will only reach between 2 and 4 degrees.
Drier weather is expected across the south of the country but there will be wintry showers in northern counties, there will also be plenty of frost overnight.
Monday
The start of next week will still be cold, but there will be a slight rise in temperatures. We can expect around 4 to 6 degrees.
There will be a few showers but it will be mostly dry throughout the day, with frost overnight.
Tuesday
There will be more showers on Tuesday, which will affect northern counties the most. Southern parts will stay dry for most of the day.
Thursday and Friday:
The weather will still be cold and frosty with occasional wintry showers but temperatures will reach highs of 4 to 7 degrees.
