Earlier this week Amanda Byram announced the news that she has made the decision to step down as co-host of Dancing With The Stars Ireland, after two successful seasons.
The Dubliner, who hosted alongside Nicky Byrne has said that she has had to move on from the show due to other professional commitments
“It’s with a heavy heart I share the news that due to personal and professional commitments both in London and LA, I won’t be joining the team for season three of DWTS Ireland. Walking away from such a successful and enjoyable show has been a difficult decision and I wish everyone the same success and enjoyment this year… keep dancing!” she said.
Now, after much speculation, and rumours that singer Una Healy was in line to step into Amanda’s shoes on the show, another Irish star is being linked with the coveted role.
Former MTV news presenter Laura Whitmore is said to be in talks to step in beside Nicky when the show returns.
The Bray native was pictured at the RTE new season launch just last week, and a source says she may have been warming up for the winter programme.
“Laura was pictured next to Ryan Tubridy and Marty Morrissey in publicity shots. That was better billing than warranted for an episode of Who Do You Think You Are? and a role in Amy Huberman’s new comedy, Finding Joy.”
Another source said: “Laura has the kind of warm personality Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman bring to BBC Strictly.”
