Derry Girls star Nicola Coughlan is auctioning off her iconic pink BAFTA dress, all for a great cause.

That’s right, you could win yourself a piece of Derry Girls history, all the while supporting a great charity.

Announcing the news on her Instagram today, Nicola told the story behind how she got her dress, while explaining where the proceeds made from selling it will be going.

Posting a BTS snap of her in the dress, Nicola wrote:

“Me last year, the day before the BAFTAs, having a complete panic because I didn’t have a dress
My lovely agent Emma brought me to Selfridges and we found this snazzy Alex Perry number and I knew I’d found the one, and now it could be yours!”

Sharing that the money raised by the dress will be going to LauraLynn Hospice, Nicola explained why the charity is so special to her:

“I visited LauraLynn last December and I was so touched by the incredible work they do for children with life-limiting conditions and their families.

“I also got to see how important fundraising is for LauraLynn and how they rely on it to continue to provide such a vital service.”

LauraLynn is Ireland’s only Children’s hospice, which provides specialist palliative and supportive care services for both terminally ill children and their families.

So, how can you get involved with the fundraiser? Nicola explains in her post:

“The Auction is running for 2 weeks closing the night of the 2020 @bafta BAFTA Awards”

To enter into the raffle you can donate as much or as little as you like to the cause at the link in her bio. Each euro donated counts as one raffle entry – so of course the more you donate, the bigger chance you have of nabbing the dress.

“You can enter as many times as you like, if you want to join the auction and don’t want to wear the dress don’t worry! It could be turned into several lovely cushions or a tea cosy or whatever you fancy.”

Happy bidding!
