Following the tragic passing of Fair City’s Karl Shiels earlier this summer, the final scenes surrounding his character Robbie Quinn are airing this week.
Tonight’s show is going to be particularly emotional, as Carol, played by Aisling O’Neill, finally agrees to lay Robbie to rest on Sandymount beach.
Carol, Nora and Jack are set to spread Robbie’s ashes, but when they arrive at his final resting place, Carol discovers something hidden among Karl’s remains.
Fair City fans will remember that Robbie died in a diamond run, as he attempted to make some quick cash to tackle his family’s financial situation.
And now, it appears that Robbie swallowed diamonds in his final moments, hoping that his final gift would save Carol from the financial hardship he left behind.
