Operation Transformation leader Marie Grace has opened up about the heartbreaking loss of her daughter just over two years ago.
Marie revealed that following the devastating death of her newborn daughter on November 18th, 2014, she turned to comfort eating and “completely lost her life” by separating herself from family and friends.
The Limerick native admitted that she began on a downward spiral following the tragedy of losing baby Michaela just days after her premature birth.
Speaking on the show, she said, “I suppose I lost a piece of myself when I lost her.
“I could have three or four bags of Tayto in the day. I could have three or four bars of chocolate.
“More often than not I mightn’t even eat a lunch and I’d wait then until the takeaways opened and I’d go and I’d get a takeaway.”
Marie hates putting herself in social situations, but that’s something she’d like to change over the coming weeks as she continues on the show.
“I hate buying any clothes because I feel I look awful no matter what I put on me.
“I am not walking into a pub where all the firsts my own are are sitting there and they’ve all beautiful hair, beautiful makeup, beautiful clothes, and I just feel like a big fat slob, basically.
“At 32 years of age, I’ve very few friends. I’ve completely lost my life outside this house.”
Marie aims to lose 4lbs over the next week.
