Melanie Murphy has opened up about life as a new mum, revealing she’s savouring every single second with her little boy.
The Irish Youtube star and her husband Thomas welcomed their 9lb 3oz bundle of joy to the world last Friday. Since then, she’s been adjusting to life with a baby, while recovering from a 25 hour labour.
“Healing, knackered and getting to know my little boy. I couldn’t have asked for a quieter, happier wee lad,” she said.
“But just want to thank every single person who sent a lovely message or flowers or gifts… I’m extremely grateful for all the love and encouragement, and it’s really lovely to see that new life can inspire so much happiness and hope even during a year like 2020!”
She added, “Family, love, support, these things are everything, that’s something that this year has confirmed for many of us. We can’t survive without this stuff, we all need to be there for each other as much as possible…
“I wouldn’t have come out the other end of this birth smiling without my husband and our families and the midwives and doctors and nurses.”
Melanie recently shared the first glimpse of the tiny tot, but revealed it wouldn’t be happening very often.
The happy couple wish to protect his privacy, and any pictures that are shared online, won’t show his face.
“I’m keeping his identity offline, but I’ll share as much about my journey of motherhood as is of interest, without putting him out there!”
