Have you got an occasion coming up and you’re not sure how to style your hair? We’ve all been there, so we here at VIP Magazine decided to come up with a system- matching your hair to your outfit.

This piece is the first in our three part ‘Hair vs Dress’ series, where we investigate which hair style works best with different dress styles. Whether you’re going to a wedding, an awards ceremony or on a glam night out with your ladies, we’ve got you covered.

Choosing three stunning dresses from Debenhams, we decided to speak to Peter Mark hair stylist Grace Carr about her top hair tips when wearing a look with a high neck. She told us that it’s all about the detail for this one.

“For a high neck, you want to see the detail. Your hair should be away from your face and neckline. Some people might have their hair down, but it’s important to have it off the face so you can see detail.

‘I’d personally recommend a low up style, perhaps on the nape of the neck. You’ll get to see all the detail. Not a lot of people like to have their hair all up, they can be quite conscious of it if they don’t have it up all the time, so just once it’s off the face, or just to have detail around the hair,” she said.
