Grainne Seoige has revealed she’d love to return to Irish screens in the near future if the right project came about.
No stranger to life in front of the camera, Grainne previously worked as a news anchor on TG4, TV3, Sky News as well as hosting a number of shows on RTE, such as an afternoon chat show, Crimecall and multiple documentary series.
Grainne took a step back from this life as she moved to South Africa with her husband Leon Jordaan, where they launched a diamond business.
Now back on Irish shores, the Galway girl admits she’d jump at the chance to get back in the hot seat and work on tv again.
While appearing on Ireland AM, she said, “I’d love it if it was the right thing. Everybody’s very busy and time is very precious, so I think it would have to be the right thing.

“But I love television, I’ve been doing it for nearly 25 years and if it was the right project, I’d love to get back into it.”
The happy couple decided to make their big move back to Ireland in December 2020 after five years in Pretoria.
“Leon lost his dad last year and it has been a really strange year this year, as well all know,” Grainne said.
“He put it me that we only have a certain time with our families and to make the most of the time we have together.”
The pair will be living a short distance from her nearest and dearest, and can’t wait to reunite once restrictions lift it’s safe to do so.
“We will isolate ten miles from their house, instead of the other side of the world,” she recently said on the Six O’Clock Show.

“At least I know I am in the same country and when the vaccines comes around I will be straight out to Spiddle for a cup of tea.”
Grainne revealed while she’s thrilled to be back home in Ireland, it’s been a big adjustment and will take some time to get used to the Irish weather again.
“When you have done five years in Pretoria which has a stunning climate; 30 degrees, blue skies and dry humidity, it is hard when you come back. It is a real shock to the system,” she laughed.
