Grainne Seoige has opened up about her romantic winter wedding, revealing she’s incredibly thankful that she got the opportunity to marry Leon Jordaan a few months ago.
The pair wed during an intimate ceremony in December, surrounded by only a handful of close friends and family.
While it was a small wedding, Grainne understands how lucky they are, and feels for brides who have had to put their big day on hold.
Speaking to Maura and Daithi on The Today Show, Grainne said, “It feels like a lifetime ago now.”
She continued, “As you know Maura there were about 80 people in a room hugging, dancing, eating together. It was such an intimate occasion.
“You couldn’t have that now. You just wouldn’t be able to have that kind of occasion so we were so fortunate to have our wedding when we did. Little did we know what was coming at that stage.”
Shortly after the wedding in Kildare, the pair returned to their South African home, where they’ve been based during lockdown.
“We’ve gotten on really really well during this time,” she told the hosts.
“I think it’s been a little bit of an all hands on deck sort of moment for us, keeping the business going and living together and as you said starting married life.
“It’s been a wonderful test and in a way, I think we’ve done really really well.”
