Grainne Gallanagh has revealed she’ll be returning to medical profession over the coming weeks.
The model and former Dancing with the Stars contestant admits she’s currently re-registering as a nurse, in a bid to join the healthcare workers on the frontline.
Taking to social media, Grainne said, “I think it may be time to hang up the dancing shoes and dawn the scrubs and gloves again.
“As I haven’t worked as a nurse in Ireland for the last few years, I am currently in the process of re-registering to help do my bit in the current crisis.”
She added, “Sending so much love to all the healthcare staff who are already in the midst of all the chaos.”
Earlier this week Terrie McEvoy also revealed she’ll be returning to her nursing roots amid the on-going Coronavirus concerns.
The influencer, who worked in healthcare for over a decade before taking a break late last year, told followers during the week that she wants to help in any way she can.
“For the past few days I’ve been scrambling around, gathering all of my paperwork and rooting out my uniforms after I received a call from a friend to come back and help on the frontline,” she said.
“I saw a plea from our Minister of Health to recruit as many healthcare professionals as possible to deal with Covid-19 and I want to help spread the word.
“If you have a healthcare background and can help, please apply at HSE.ie/oncall. We’ve got this, shoulder to shoulder. Let’s do it.”
