Grainne Gallanagh has given her 40k followers some much-needed comic relief this week, as she shared a serious hair washing fail.
To give some back story, the former Dancing With The Stars Contestant saw a beauty hack on Instagram, which stated that using rice water on your hair will help to grow it longer faster. Giving it a try for herself, Grainne took to her shower yesterday morning with a jug full of rice water to rinse her hair.
However, what she didn’t realise was hiding in the jug was a worm, which somehow ended up in the rice.
Retelling the situation on her Instagram stories, Grainne’s sister explained:
“So Grainne saw this thing on TikTik where if you use rice water on your hair, it makes it grow longer. What you do is you put rice into a container with water and leave it for a few days and then you get into the shower and put it on you hair”

Being a typical sibling, Grainne’s sister Gemma continued to record Grainne’s ordeal. After hearing her scream from the shower, Grainne eventually emerged distressed, while Gemma spoke to her about the situation.
Grainne went on to say that she was worried that the worms had laid eggs in her hair, which causes Gemma to burst into a fit of laughter.
Eventually seeing the funny side of the situation, Grainne reshared the uploads onto her own story, along with a picture of her crying beside a cartoon worm, captioning it:
