Graham Norton is a Eurovision pro at this point, having worked as the BBC’s commentator at the annual event since 2009. But even pros make mistakes.

The Cork man was tasked with announcing which UK city will host the sing contest next year. With the two finalists being Liverpool and Glasgow.

Revealing where Eurovision 2023 will be held on The One Show, Graham opened a silver envelope, taking out the card out, and pausing for dramatic effect before announcing Liverpool as the official host city.

But unbeknownst to Graham the back of the card, which was visible for the audience, said: “Eurovision Song Contest, United Kingdom, Liverpool 2023”

In Graham’s defense, prior to opening the envelope, he revealed the team behind the production had told him to build up for dramatic effect.

Saying: “They’ve told me to build the drama, I just want to rip it open!” He also obviously hadn’t been informed the card was double-sided.

But still fans could help but find the mistake hilarious.
