Like thousands of couples around the country, Grace Mongey and Chris Gernon have made the decision to put their wedding plans on hold and postpone their big day.
Due to the on-going Coronavirus pandemic and ever-changing lockdown restrictions, the pair decided to press pause and wait until things hopefully settle down in a few months.
“We decided maybe four or five months ago that we were going to postpone. We didn’t know how things were going to pan out so instead of letting Covid decide, we decided,” she said.
The pair initially planned to tie the knot in the stunning Virginia Park Lodge in July 2021, due to the beautiful grounds and picturesque scenery.
Speaking about their venue choice, Grace previously said, “It completely exceeded our expectations and we fell in love with it!”
Grace and Chris, announced their engagement in June 2018 after he popped the question in Wexford, a location very close to their hearts as it was her late dad’s favourite place.
At the time of the engagement, Grace told VIP Magazine, “It was a big, big surprise and I’m glad it was because I always I thought I’ll definitely know when he’s going to do it, I’ll suss him, but he completely caught me off guard. He kept trying to put me off!”
The pair share two children, Sienna and Hayden, and Grace reveals they have no plans to expand their brood, just yet.
Taking to social media, she told followers, “At the moment definitely not and not for a few years. I think it’s one of those things that we will have to see with time.
“We’re coming out of the hard stage with Hayden. He’s a lot harder than Sienna was. To go back… we will have to have a good chat. I’m not sure if Chris is too keen, he’s happy with his family of two, he has a boy and a girl and that’s all he ever wanted.”
