After weeks of miserable weather, Met Eireann has issued a very promising weather report for the weekend ahead.
Experts are predicting that we will enjoy temperatures of up to 22c this weekend, after what has almost been the wettest May on record.
The rest of the week looks set to remain overcast with some drizzle, however conditions look like they will gradually improve as we move further into the week.
Speaking about this weekend, weather expert Alan O’Reilly tweeted:
“Sunday could be a day for the beach. Looks like some decent heat but a little far out yet and we have seen how things can go downhill. The butchers might want to get the burgers planned though.”
It’s been quite cool lately, but it’s going to get warmer later this week 🌡️
This graph from @ECMWF shows a trend towards higher temperatures later this week & weekend📈 Notice the spread in values, meaning there’s still some uncertainty as to how high temperatures could get. pic.twitter.com/V7HGSOeEXf

Met Eireann says:
“Early indications suggest Sunday will have dry and sunny spells in many areas with a few showers around during the day. Highest temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees”
We like those odds, fire up the barbeques!
