Fancy blowing off the cobwebs and getting out and about for an hour or so this weekend? Well, from 11am on Saturday morning, Operation Transformation leaders will be hosting a number of nationwide walks to get us on our feet.
Taking place right across the country, over 100 walks have been arranged, which will see the show’s host, leaders and professionals join the people of Ireland for a lovely, leisurely stroll.
Shane and Dr. Eddie Murphy will be pounding the pavement in Galway, with walks taking place in Salthill, Mountbellew, Tuam, Ballinasloe, Caherlistrane GAA, Carraroe, Claregalway, Doughiska, Inis Meain, Kiltullagh and Loughrea.
In Monaghan, they’ll be heading from Ardaghey, Latton, Carricmaacross, Emy Lough, Turagh, Blackhill, Killeen and Aughnamullen.
Walks in Donegal will take place at Tory Island, Tearmainn Leitir Ceanainn, Milford Letterkenny, Baile Na Finne, Maghery and Buncrana.
In Kerry, strolls will take place in Listowel and Tralee. In Kildare, walkers will depart from KCC in Naas. In Kilkenny, you can join the fun at Castle Park, Thomastown United Park and Fair Green Callan.
If you plan on getting out and about in Meath, walks leave from Carnaross, Kilmainhamwood, Ballinacree, Gibbstown, Castletown, Cowmen Complex, Ashbourne, Trim and Bettystown.
Dr Sumi Dunne will be heading up one of the walks in Laois, which will depart from Rosenails Cappard, Galesquarter, Mountrath, Emo Community Centre, Portarlington, Kilcavan GAA, Killameesita Church, Swan Community Hall, St Fergal’s Rahdowney, Stradbally, O’Connell Square and Shanahoe Community Hall.
In Dublin, walking routes will be based through Islandbridge, Marley Park, Porterstown Park, Swords, Balbriggan, Tyrrelstown and Palmerstown.
In Mayo, you can join the walks in Ballyheane, Belmullet, Knock, Achill, Westport, Kilmovee, Kilkelly, Ballina, Aughmore, Ballinrobe, Ballyhaunis, Castlebar, Kiltimagh, Claremorris, Newport, Gortjordan and The Neal.
Kathryn Thomas will be joining the walkers in Tullamore for an adventure of fun.
The walks in Carlow will be taking place from Ballinkillen Hurling Club, Ballinanbranna GFC, Ballon GFC, De La Salle College Bagenalstown, Clonmore GFC, Palatine GFC.
The Clare walk will leave from The Cascades in Lisseycasey.
In Leitrim you can join the groups in Carrick on Shannon, Manorhamilton or the Ballinamore Sports Complex, while in Limerick walks will take place in Castletroy and Newcastle West.
In Longford, routes will go through Longford Town, Edgeworthstown and Ballymahon.
Barry, Andrea and Tayna will be based in Cork, with routes leaving from CIT, Ballinacarriga, Churchtown Mallow, Blackrock and Skibereen.
There’ll be no shortage of fun in Louth, as walks are taking place right across the county. They’ll take place from Westerns GFC, Monasterboice, Drogheda, Kilkerley, The Bush Track, Dromiskin, Stabannon, Ganderstown, Termonfeckin, Muirhevanmor and Ardee.
In Roscommon, the walks will take place in Ballaghaderreen, Mote Park and Cushla Park, while in Sligo they’ll take place in Silgo Towm Tubbercurry and Grange.
If you fancy getting out for a walk in Tipperary on Saturday you can meet in Cahir, Clonal, Templemore, Nenagh and Tip town.
In Waterford, routes will go through Kilmacthomas and Cappoquin Affane GAA, while in Westmeath they’ll depart from Belvedere House and Supervalu Ballymahon Road.
Lorraine and Karl Henry will be heading up the walks that leaves from the Cavan Institute.
Walks in Wexford will go from Courtrown, Tintern, Rosslare Harbour, Cahore Pier, Wexford Swimming Pool and Rathangan.
Finally, in Wicklow, you can join the strolls through Blessington, Arklow and Bray.
