Georgie Crawford has thanked Westlife star Mark Feehily and former Miss World Rosanna Davison for their support amid her struggles with surrogacy.

Meeting the pair at last night’s Westlife concert in Dublin, Georgie shared a snap with Mark and Rosanna backstage. Captioning the picture; “[Mark Feehily] and [Rosanna Davison] thank you for giving me hope that I will hold another baby in my arms someday.”

Georgie and her husband Jamie were forced to halt their surrogacy plans due the war in Ukraine, where their surrogacy agency was located.

Rosanna has shared similar struggles as her surrogate was in Ukraine when the war began, but with the model’s help was able to relocate safely to Ireland with her family.

Mark is also a strong supporter of surrogacy as he and his husband Cailean welcomed their little girl, Layla, into the world in 2019 via surrogate.

Georgie shared an emotional update in March on her surrogacy journey, after she and her husband Jamie made the decision to halt proceedings. Sharing that their embryos had actually been in Ukraine went the conflict began.

Speaking on her Instagram stories she spoke about what they know right now; “We’ve heard through the grapevine that our embryos have been rescued by an amazing man, but we don’t currently know what country they’re in.”

Continuing, a visibly emotional Georgie said; “I’m scared of whats to come for me emotionally” and that they are “putting our best foot forward every day, praying for peace, trying to look after ourselves as best we can.”

“They are in one of two places but we don’t want to be distracting our clinic from what they need to be doing by sending lots of emails.” she added.

“The fact that they were all rescued from Kyiv is all we could have hoped for at this time. So we will wait to see what happens next.”

The couple’s embryo transfer was meant to take place at the end of February after they matched with a surrogate at the end of 2021, however due to the rising political tensions they decided to put this on hold.

Sharing an update at the time Georgie said; “Our clinic were so supportive but unfortunately our surrogate mother felt like she had to keep going in the process and was to be put forward to another family who felt ready to proceed.”

“When I say unfortunate, I mean unfortunate for us. I have no doubt in my mid that our surrogate made the best decision for her family. I thought about her all day long yesterday and have nothing but love in my heart for her.”

However, this doesn’t make the news any easier to bear as she said; “I’ve woken up every single day praying that there would be a resolution to this, that we could go ahead with the transfer.” She also said that the clinic were so understanding and that she and Jamie have decided to; “delay the surrogacy and wait for more stability in Ukraine.”

Finally she said; “My heart breaks when I look at Pia sometimes and I haven’t been able to give her a sibling before now but I know that it’s gonna happen for us and this is just a bump in the road. My heart is gonna be shattered tomorrow, but I’ve been in these rock bottom moments before and found a way out, and I know that I’ll get through it.”
