Breast cancer survivor, Georgie Crawford has posted some pictures to social media from when she was undergoing cancer treatment. Sharing to Instagram she said;
“I don’t think I’ve ever shared this photo before. This is me two years ago on my way to my last chemotherapy session.”
In the picture, Georgie looks as stunning and positive as always and she shared it yesterday as it was supposed to be the 2020 Battle of the Stars event.
This event is in aid of Breast Cancer Ireland and Georgie participated in it herself whilst she was going through treatment;
“Breast Cancer Ireland reached out to me and asked me to dance in their annual Battle of the Stars event that year and the dancing kept me so positive during treatment. It’s one of the best things I ever did. I can still hear the screams of my family as @darraghstokes flew me across the stage.”
The author and podcast host went on to say about her diagnosis; “I never thought this would happen to me or could happen to me. But it did.”
Also adding that she has; “been to the labs, I’ve seen where the money goes and I can tell you thatย @breastcancerireland chaired by my surgeon Prof. Arnie Hill, are doing everything they can to research a cure for breast cancer and research new drugs.”
She then asked her many followers to instead text CURE to 50300 to give a โฌ4 donation as the “2020 event was due to take place tonight but unfortunately the event has been postponed due to Covid-19.”
Presenter James Kavanagh and influencer Niamh Cullen were set to dance last night at the event. We have seen for months the training they have both been putting into it, and they both shared their dismay at the event be cancelled.
Niamh posted a video to her Instagram of both of them practicing their routines at home instead!
“We had a few more lessons to do and had a ball learning and achieving difficult lifts we were so excited!!! We both have seen 1st hand the amazing work @breastcancerireland do and Iโve met many inspiring women, some still going through treatment.”
Here’s hoping this incredible event will get to go ahead very soon.
