A huge congratulations are in order for Gemma Arterton and Irish husband Rory Keenan as the couple have officially confirmed that they’re expecting their first child.
The 36-year-old shared the happy news when she stood out at the Raindance Film Festival awards and showcased her baby bump.
Having tied the knot in a secret ceremony in Co. Wicklow back in September 2019, the pair were first linked together after they were spotted kissing at a gig two years previous.
You may recognise Rory for his roles in Peaky Blinders, War & Peace, Versailles and RTÉ’s legal drama, Striking Out, in which he starred alongside Amy Huberman.
Gemma has been known for speaking out about her uncertainty about having kids in the past, telling the Times in 2013: “I don’t feel ready for kids because I want to know that I can come back and still be valuable to the industry.”
“That’s only going to happen when I feel a little bit more accomplished…or at least when I’ve accomplished something of which I’m proud,” she added.
While in 2018 she told the Telegraph: “I’m a neurotic person and a worrier anyway, and I think “Oh God, when I have kids am I still going to be able to do all this?”
“When we were kids my mum and grandmother didn’t work and I think that made them sad. That has influenced me.”
However, it looks like the talented actress has finally had a change of heart!
Gemma was simply radiant posing for pictures, while she cradled her perfect bump.
But that wasn’t the only win for the former Bond girl on the night as she also took home the Icon Award at the annual event.
Once again, a huge congrats to both Gemma and Rory!
