Gavin James has shared his heartbreak, following the death of his uncle Paddy.
He sadly lost his uncle to Covid19 last week, and while many of those close to the family couldn’t attend the funeral due to government restrictions, they were blown away by the support of friends and neighbours who lined the streets to honour Paddy.
“He was a wonderful man, full of stories, and was part of every inch of my family for all of his 95 years,” Gavin said.

“[It was] an emotional sight seeing his whole street clapping as the hearse drove by his house. He had more friends and family than most. RIP.”
Earlier this month Gavin appeared on the Late Late Show and asked viewers to donate anything they could to Irish charity ALONE which helps support older people at home.
They received over €160,000 in donations, leaving the singer awe-struck.
“I’m so amazed at the generosity of our country,” he said on social media at the time.

“Even when everything seems so bleak, we still lend a helping hand. You’re all amazing.”
Miriam O’Callaghan, who hosted the show that Friday night said, “You were superb Gavin. Thank you so much for being there.
“You raised an incredible amount of money for ALONE. Forever grateful.”
