Five of the best seaside spots for a bite to eat

There are few things in life we enjoy more than spending the day by the sea. The sun’s shining, there’s a warmth in the air and everyone’s in great form.

Whether you spend the day building sand castles with the little ones or enjoying a leisurely stroll along the seafront with your pals, you’re sure to work up an appetite.

Here are five spots you need to check out next time you’re off on a seaside adventure!

The Dog House, Howth

After a nice long walk down the pier, make sure you pop into The Dog House in Howth. Located just at the Dart station, you can grab some food and chill out before catching the train home.

They serve everything from coffee and sweet treats to dinner and wine, with a menu mainly compiling of pasta, pizza and chicken wings. They’re open Tue-Thurs 11am-12am, Fri-Sat 9am-1am, Sun 10am-12am and Mon 11am-12am.

Gourmet Food Parlour, Dun Laoghaire

Gourmet Food Parlour is the perfect spot for some wine and food after a day at the sea, with choices aplenty!

They open Mon-Tue 8am-5pm, Wed 8am-9pm, Thurs-Fri 8am-10pm, Sat 9am-10pm and Sun 9am-9pm. It is just located in Unit 3, Harbour Square on Crofton Road in Dún Laoghaire.

The Baths, Clontarf

Overlooking the newly refurbished Clontarf baths, this restaurant is an ideal spot if you want breakfast, lunch or dinner, with a view.

Whether you’d rather a bowl of chowder or a goats cheese tart, pie and mash or scampi with fries, there’s something for everyone on their menu.

Located on 123a Clontarf Rd in Clontarf, they open Tue-Thurs 5pm-10pm, Fri 12am-10pm, Sat 11am-10pm and Sun 11am-9pm.

Platform Pizza, Bray

After a scenic walk from Greystones to Bray, there’s no better way to spend an afternoon than tucking into some food with pals.

Platform Pizza in Bray has been named as having the best pizza in Ireland, and once you’ve tried it, you’ll know why.

The opening hours are Mon-Wed 12am-10pm, Thu-Sat 12am-11pm and Sun 12am-10pm. It is located on 7 Strand Rd in Bray.

Beshoff Bros, Howth

What’s a sunny day at the sea in Ireland without some fish and chips? Beshoff Bros is the best spot for an all-time Irish favourite.

They are opened Mon-Sun 11am-10pm. They are located on 12 Harbour Rd in Howth.
