Last night’s Rose of Tralee went down a storm, after all the anticipation and excitement leading up to the night.
From weightlifting, to tattooing, and of course not to forget crowd favourite, Penny the dog, if last night’s show is anything to go by viewers are sure to be in for a treat again tonight.
However, while we patiently wait for night two of the competition, we are giving a run down of our favourite moments from yesterday’s show.

Meath rose Meghan Byrne set the bar high for other roses by deadlifting 100kg on stage during her performance. Leaving both viewers and presenter Dáithí O’ Se in shock.
Host Dáithí then joked “Could you have done a few more?” We don’t think anyone will be messing with Meghan!

Another first for the Rose of Tralee Dome, the Arizona rose showed that she has nerves of steel by getting a tattoo backstage to mark the occasion.
Kayla Gray allowed Dáithí to ink her with a rose on her inner arm, with the help from tattoo artist Emma Brosnan of course.
Dáithí’s Hockey Skills

The Kilkenny rose Clodagh showcased her hockey skills last night, enlisting help from none other than presenter Dáithí.
Clodagh, who has played for both her county and country dressed Dáithí in protective gear to defend against her shooting skills. As you can imagine, the rose didn’t have too much trouble making the shots!
The hockey shin guards are not the only boots Dáithí will be donning, as the presenter has be dared to wear the thigh-high red boots from popular production Kinky Boots.
Eoghan McDermott and Doireann Garrihy have previously asked the host to sport the famous boots on stage, and have since managed to raise €20,000 for worthy cause the Walk in My Shoes charity.
So! We set up a Go Fund Me to get Daithi in a pair of Kinky Boots on screen during the #roseoftralee (long story) BUT THE POINT IS IT HAS NEARLY 10 GRAND IN IT! All the money goes to Walk In My Shoes if he does -tonight or tomorrow. Please spread the word! https://t.co/1qhT8j29hO

With €20,000 at stake, we can only assume Dáithí will looking fierce in those thigh highs on stage tonight!
