It’s been a good few months since we first got word of Chris O’Dowd’s new show.
But now we finally have a little insight into what we can expect to see!
Yes, back in September of last year, the Roscommon man announced that he was working on a brand new TV show entitled Small Town, Big Story, which he had written himself.
While he won’t be starring in the show, there are plenty of well-known faces bringing the cast together, including Mad Men star Christina Hendricks and Peaky Blinders star Paddy Considine.
Filmed in Ireland, the series is set in the fictional yet completely quintessential Irish town of Drumbán.
The story follows the residents of Drumbán, who have been harbouring a huge secret since the eve of the Millennium, over two decades ago.
But, when a big Hollywood production team invades the small town, it throws the area into the spotlight thus threatening the exposure of the secret.
Yes, we’re hooked already!
Christina stars as Wendy Patterson, a local girl done good as a hot-shot television producer, who returns to her hometown from LA with a Hollywood production in tow.
Having left under something of a cloud, Wendy finds herself caught between her past and her epic new production.
Meanwhile, Paddy stars as Drumbán’s local doctor and pillar of the community Seamus Proctor, who finds himself in the eye of a storm as a celluloid circus descends, threatening to blow open a secret he has been harboring since the Millennium.
The new series, which is described as a “warm, witty, and very dramatic comedy” is set to air on Sky and streaming service NOW this Autumn.
