First look at Andrew Scott and Kerry Condon in WWII drama, Pressure

Focus Features has released the first trailer for Pressure, giving us our first look at Andrew Scott and Kerry Condon in the highly anticipated WWII drama.

Set against the backdrop of the Second World War, the film stars Andrew Scott and Brendan Fraser at the helm, alongside Kerry Condon, Chris Messina and Damian Lewis.

The movie tells the gripping true story of the three tense days leading up to the Allied invasion of Normandy, one of the most pivotal events of World War II, which ultimately led to the liberation of France and Western Europe in 1944.

Andrew takes on the role of Group Captain James Stagg, the Allies’ chief meteorologist, tasked with advising Supreme Commander General Dwight D. Eisenhower on the weather conditions that would determine the success or failure of the Normandy invasion.

While Brendan will play future US President Eisenhower.

Kerry, on the other hand, will play Allied Supreme Commander Dwight D. Eisenhower’s “trusted aide Captain Kay Summersby”.

“With his trusted aide Captain Kay Summersby to confide in, and haunted by a catastrophic D-Day rehearsal, the final decision rests with Supreme Allied Commander Dwight D. Eisenhower,” the official synopsis reads.

“With only hours to go, the fate of the war and the lives of millions hang in the balance.”

The trailer focuses heavily on Andrew as Group Captain James, capturing the immense pressure resting on his shoulders as he advises General Dwight D. Eisenhower on whether the Normandy invasion can proceed.

However, Kerry also makes a strong impression as Captain Kay Summersby, with her scenes hinting at the quiet strength and composure of a woman operating at the heart of a monumental decision.

The film, directed by Anthony Maras, is set to arrive in cinemas later this year.

To say we’re excited to see Kerry and Andrew on the big screen together is an understatement!
