First look: Andrew Scott shines in new Irish comedy-drama Blue Moon

Andrew Scott

The trailer for Blue Moon, starring our very own Andrew Scott, has finally dropped — and let’s just say, we’re officially counting down the days until we can watch the film in all its glory.

Yes, the upcoming comedy-drama, which had its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival in February, follows the final days of Lorenz Hart (Hawke), part of the legendary American mid-twentieth-century songwriting duo Rodgers & Hart.

According to the synopsis: “On the evening of March 31, 1943, legendary lyricist Lorenz Hart confronts his shattered self-confidence in Sardi’s bar as his former collaborator Richard Rodgers celebrates the opening night of his ground-breaking hit musical “Oklahoma!”.”

This date marked Rodgers’s (Andrew) first collaboration with Oscar Hammerstein II (Simon Delaney), who was Hart’s replacement.

As Andrew already won the Best Supporting Actor award at the Berlin International Film Festival for his performance as Richard Rodgers, we’re expecting big things!

Written by Robert Kaplow and produced in association with the Dublin-based Wild Atlantic Pictures, the movie was filmed in Ireland during the summer of 2024.

Joining Andrew on screen are Ethan Hawke and Margaret Qualley, among other standout names.

So mark your calendars folks, as Blue Moon is slated for release in Ireland on November 14.
