Maura Derrane is set to appear on The Restaurant later this evening, and it looks like she’ll be cooking up a storm!
In this week’s show, the presenter is tasked with composing a menu that reflects her childhood, growing up on the Aran Islands.
Maura’s love of seafood cuisine will play a big role in her menu as she takes on the Head Chef Challenge.
Speaking of the experience, she said “I wouldn’t say that I’m a big foodie, but I guess I’ve been very lucky that I get to cook with some of the best chefs not only in Ireland but in the world.
“Five stars would be unbelievable, but somewhere in between would make me really happy.”
She joked, “If I got two stars I’d have to crawl back to Daithi O’Se and Grainne Seoige and all the people I know who’ve done this, they’ve probably got a bit better than that!”
Maura’s appearance comes after Una Healy took on the Head Chef Challenge two weeks ago.
The former Saturday’s singer shocked the judges with a non-traditional menu, including a spice bag recipe!
Catch the show tonight at 9pm on Virgin Media One to see how Maura gets on.
