Fair City actor Rodrigo Ternevoy has revealed he was recently left fighting for his life after contracting septicaemia while abroad.
The star who is best known for his role as Christiano in the soap opera, fell ill while visiting his family in Brazil.
Rodrigo, who is originally from Sao Paulo, was due to spend one week in Rio de Janerio, however the trip was extended by almost two months as he was struck down by the dangerous blood disease.
Recalling the traumatic time on social media, he said: “After an unexpected seven weeks of hospitals, doctors, surgery, wound dressings, and intravenous medicines etc etc. I am finally well enough to return home to Ireland!
“I am so thankful to have my health once again and have learned to appreciate each and every moment of life.”
Extending his thank you to his family, friends, and followers he said: “Thank you to all those who sent their prayers, love, good wishes and positive energy my way during my recovery.
“A special thanks to my lovely husband and my brother Bruno who went out of their way to take care of me all this time.”
