Fair City star Dave O’Sullivan is remembering his friend and colleague Karl Shiels today, on the first anniversary of his passing.
The 47-year-old, best known for his role as Robbie Quinn on the popular RTE soap, died suddenly last July. The funeral mass took place in Castleknock, followed by cremation at Newlands Cross Crematorium.
Sharing a picture of the pair together, Dave said, “One year gone today. You are sorely missed my friend. Onwards.”
Karl was known and loved by everyone he worked with, including co-star Amilia Keating.
Amilia welcomed her first son to the world earlier this year, and honoured Karl by naming the tot after him.
Speaking to VIP Magazine, Amilia said, “Over the years Karl and his incredible partner Laura became like family to us.
“He couldn’t be our best man for the wedding so when we found out I was pregnant we knew Karl or Karla was going to be in the baby’s name to honour him. I can’t wait to tell Reggie Tomas Karl Keating all about him and how brilliant he really was.”
