Fair City to pay moving tribute to late star Tom Jordan in tonight’s episode

Fair City will pay an emotional tribute to the late Tom Jordan in tonight’s episode.

The star who played the much loved character of Charlie Kelly in the long running soap sadly passed away in June this year, aged 82.

The legendary actor made his debut as the loveable Charlie in the soap’s very first episode back in 1989, and has since made his mark on both Carrigstown and it’s residents.

Addressing the passing of character Charlie, Bela will receive a phone call in tonight’s episode from Charlie’s relatives in Canada, informing him that the much loved character has passed in his sleep.

Paying homage to the legend, the residents of Carrigstown are set to gather at the community centre to celebrate the life Charlie, honouring him and the impact he has had on their community.

Brigie de Courcy, Fair City producer previously paid tribute to Tom following his passing in June.

“This is devastating news” she said.

Continuing, she said “Tom Jordan was the heart of Fair City. He played Charlie kelly from the very first episode and was a huge part of our plans for the future.

“He will remain a legend for the viewers and for everyone who had the privilege of working with him.”

The emotional episode will air tonight at 8pm on RTE One.
