Love is certainly in the air this month, as Rebecca Grimes is the latest celebrity to announce her engagement to boyfriend Paul.
The soap star who plays Hayley Collins on Fair City tends to keep her relationship out of the spotlight but couldn’t help but let the news slip in a recent interview with the RTÉ Guide.
And while she’s not giving too much away, Rebecca did mention how she plans to let co-star and best friend Nyree Yergainharsian, who plays Melanie Petrosian on the show act as celebrant for her wedding.
“What we haven’t told anybody – I haven’t spoken about this on social media at all – is that I’m getting married this year and Nyree is going to do my ceremony as well,” Rebecca said.

Similarly, when Nyree tied the knot last year, it was, in fact, Rebecca who stepped in to act as celebrant.
So looks like she plans on returning the favour!
Adding: “Like we married each other, you know?”
Rebecca also explained that another friend, who is a chaplain will help to carry out part of the ceremony.
Rebecca and Paul plan to exchange vows later this year in a fabulous winter wedding.
While the legal aspect of the ceremony will be taken place on an earlier date.
“In future, we will celebrate the anniversary on the date of the big ceremony. Although it would be nice to have a mini celebration every year on that day too.”
