Fair City star, Daithí Mac Suibhne revealed he married his longtime girlfriend Aisling in a gorgeous, intimate ceremony. The romantic ceremony took place in Dublin earlier this month at The Merrion Hotel.
Although the couple had initially planned to get married in Portugal over two years ago, they had to push back their plans due to work commitments.
Then, with the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic 15 months ago, their plans of a wedding abroad were pushed back even further.
Speaking about the change of plans with RSVP Live Daithí, known for his role as Emmet O’Brien in Fairy City, said;”We foolishly thought we might be able to get married abroad this year and then we quickly came to the realisation that it would have been very irresponsible to have people travel from several different countries.”
So instead, surrounded by 25 of their close friends and family members, the pair married in the gorgeous surrounds of The Merrion Hotel.
Continuing, Daithí said; “We weren’t planning on having a big wedding anyway. I know it is a hotel but it was still a really intimate venue and it was really cosy inside.”
“We have been engaged since 2015, so it has been six years and we weren’t in a huge rush. Holding off was the best plan for us because neither of us would have had much time to organise the day,” he added.
