Tonight will see the launch of a brand new talent show on RTE, Glow Up: Ireland. The show will see ten amateur make-up artists competing across eight episodes, showing off their technical know-how, skill, artistry and imagination as they are challenged in a range of real-world assignments rooted in authenticity and tasked with creating make-up transformations in Glow Up HQ.
At the end of it all, just one contestant will be crowned Ireland’s Next Make-Up Star!
Hosting the show is none other than Longford lady and Love Island star, Maura Higgins and she has opened up about her nerves ahead of it airing this evening.
Speaking with The Irish Sun the reality star shared that she’s excited for the launch but a little nervous too; “I actually am excited to watch it. I think we’re going to do a screening night over here in the UK but also I’m nervous because I’m not one to watch myself back.”
“So I’ll just be cringing, I will be cringing the whole way through I think. It will be nice to see what way it’s edited I think it’s going to be amazing,” she added.
Joining Maura and putting the MUAs through their paces are industry professionals Cathyanne Mac Allister and Emma O’ Byrne. With over 35 years’ experience Cathyanne has worked with massive design houses including Christian Dior, John Galliano, Roberto Cavalli, Givenchy and Dolce and Gabbana, along with countless editorials with Vogue, Harpers Bazaar and literally thousands of Fashion Week shows.
Emma has been working as a make-up artist for 20 years and has travelled the world working with Charlotte Tilbury on shows including Victoria Secret, Tom Ford, Victoria Beckham and Donna Karan in New York as well as the likes of Gucci, Chloe and Versace.
Tune in to Glow Up: Ireland tonight on RTE2 at 9.35pm.
