Elaine Crowley has shared her delight as she reunited with mum Mary V.
The broadcaster has been based in Dublin for work over the last few months, while her mum spent lockdown in Cork.
They were apart for over four months before travel restrictions were eased and Elaine could go visit.
Taking to social media, she beamed, “Yay, I’m with my mammy. So happy to finally see Mary V.”
She added, “I’ve the face mask and sanitiser if I get any closer, don’t worry.”
Towards the end of last year, Elaine revealed her mum was diagnosed with lung cancer.
Speaking to the RTE Guide at the time she said, “My mother has had a whole month of radiotherapy.
“She was lucky in that it was caught relatively early. In six weeks she will have a scan to see if the treatment worked. But she is such a soldier, taking it all in her stride, not complaining.
“She is a strong woman. We’re all doing our shift work to make sure she is OK. I think she is sick of the sight of us.”
