Elaine Crowley has gone from strength to strength each week on RTE’S Celebrity Operation Transformation, and ahead of the series finale tonight it’s been revealed that the Midday host lost a whopping one stone, eight pounds, which is more than any other leader.

The Cork native is over the moon at her success, and is thrilled she decided to take part in the show.

The TV3 presenter spoke to Ray D’Arcy on Radio 1 and said that she’s “feeling good, feeling very positive” about her time on the show so far, and is “actually glad I did it now, and that’s not something I thought I would say.”

It's not about the scales for Elaine, it's about a lifestyle change.

Operation Transformation fitness guru Karl Henry is also very proud of her progress, and said that Elaine proved herself to be the “nation’s sweetheart.”

In a column for the Irish Independent, he wrote, “Over the last few weeks, Elaine’s stark honesty, not to mention her sense of humour, has hit home with viewers all around Ireland.

“Elaine represents many women in Ireland, and she’s been open, honest, funny, and grounded about it on the programme.

“I think Elaine became a heroine to follow for health because her vulnerability was there for all of us to see. She showed herself, warts and all, and this isn’t easy for anyone to do, much less a well-known celebrity.

“I think we are all vulnerable. We can all see ourselves in her, but her bravery to take these insecurities to a national stage, with a camera following her every move, made our affection for Elaine swell even more.”

Be sure to see how Elaine, and all the contestants do on the final episode of Operation Transformation, which airs tonight on RTE One at 9.35pm.
