Elaine Crowley’s new daytime talk show Elaine aired for the first time yesterday afternoon. The presenter is best known for her role as host of TV3’s Midday, but this is her first solo presenting venture.

Speaking about her new career move to the Irish Sun, the 39-year-old said that the experience is both exciting and terrifying.

Elaine also expressed her feelings about the stand alone name of her new show, stating that it certainly adds pressure. However, she’s very thankful to the station for the confidence they’ve put in her.

“I thought they just called it Elaine because they didn’t want to call it after another time of the day. Then after a while you think, ‘God it is an absolutely amazing endorsement of me,’ which I’m very flattered about, I am very flattered and very mortified.

“When you’re on Ireland AM it was grand. You’re with a load of different people, there is a team of presenters. Even on Midday there were presenters before me and there may have been presenters after me.

“When it’s your name on it, it’s a fe*kin’ different ball game, isn’t it,” she said.

We’re delighted for her! You can catch Elaine at 3pm, weekdays on 3.
