Here’s a bit more information about our inspiring nominees…
Linda Stinson – Bellamianta
Bellamianta was created in 2015 after a tanning disaster on Linda’s wedding day, with little sister brand Iconic Bronze launching a couple of years later. Using her years of experience in the beauty industry, a vegan, cruelty-free fake tan free of nasty chemicals was created, and the mousse was a fast success.
The brand built its name by providing spray tans for Dancing with the Stars contestants, and soon it gained a huge celeb following, from the cobbles of Coronation Street stars to the Hollywood Hills of LA and the Love Island villa.
Now Tyrone native Linda heads up the company on her own, with the brand available in over 5,000 outlets nationwide including Brown Thomas and Boots, both here and in the UK.
Marissa Carter – Cocoa Brown
Marissa has distinguished herself as a true innovator, founding iconic Irish brands such as Cocoa Brown Tan and Carter Beauty cosmetics.
Her products are loved by celebrities and beauty editors, from the pages of Vogue to the Oscars red carpet. She created the world’s first one-hour tan.
Available in 21 countries and with over 15,000 stockists around the world, Cocoa Brown by Marissa Carter has achieved international cult-status and is one of Ireland’s favourite tan brands.
Kerry Hanaphy – Kerry Hanaphy Aesthetic Clinic
Having gained the reputation of “The LipQueen”, Kerry is regarded as one of Ireland’s finest aesthetic nurses. Running three clinics, she specialises in dermal and lip fillers, as well as revolutionary facial treatments that deliver incredible results.
Kerry began her career as a dedicated respiratory and chemotherapy nurse, with over 20 years experience in some of Ireland and the UK’s top hospitals and clinics. She is credited with introducing some of the most innovative, effective treatments to Ireland, and she leads a team of healthcare professionals consisting of medical doctors, dental surgeons and registered nurses.
Kerry also trains and educates medical professionals on behalf of premium brands such as Galderma and Vida Aesthetics.
Una McGurk – Seoulista Beauty
In 2016, Una McGurk had a vision: to make clinical-grade skincare more accessible and affordable to the conscious beauty consumer.
With ten years of cosmeceutical industry experience, she founded Seoulista Beauty, born from a desire to bring hassle-free beauty to the routines of the busy, modern-day lifestyle. Since inception, the brand has harnessed the incredible power of cryo-technology, providing customers with high-performance daily and weekly solutions, all within the comfort of home.
Una has collaborated with The British Fashion Council and London Fashion Week as well as The Beauty Council and CEW (Cosmetic Executive Women). Seoulista Beauty has always been on the cutting edge of beauty technology.
Vanessa Gomes – Essences Day Spa
Over the years, Vanessa has had the opportunity to train under some of the most recognised and respected names in the beauty industry.
She specialised in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (Leduc & Vodder Method), and Body & Facial Renata França Method (MLD/ Miracle Touch /Miracle Face) Pupila Premium 5 Starts. In fact, she became one of the pioneers of the Miracle Touch Massage Renata França Method in Ireland. This led to her creating Essences Day Spa which caters to the unique needs of women.
After receiving her business degree in December 2018 Vanessa decided to take it a step further and increase her therapy space in Dublin and start a new journey to her Day Spa. Vanessa strongly believes in the practice of “aesthetics in a natural way” working with aesthetics with a holistic approach.
Vogue Williams – Bare by Vogue
Vogue has always been a lover of fake tan, so when she was given the opportunity to create her own tanning range in 2019, she jumped at the chance.
With a lot of hard work and some trial and error, she found the perfect tanning formulation which now boasts a collection of over 10 different products in multiple shades.
Vogue has made sure that the products are pregnancy-safe and cruelty-free, ensuring her range is suitable for everyone.
Suzanne Fowler – 14 Day Manicure
Seeing the popularity of salon manicures, Suzanne saw the potential to DIY it. She wanted to make it simple and convenient, saving time and money. After signing up for a course with a leading professional gel nail brand and learning that 40 percent of women do their nails at home, inspiration struck.
14 Day Manicure was born, becoming one of the first at-home gel manicure kits to sell through Europe as well as the USA.
The brand now has over 400 shades so there is something for everyone to choose from when painting your nails at home.
Drs Lisa & Vanessa Creaven – Spotlight Oral Care
Dr Lisa and Dr Vanessa Creaven, practising cosmetic dentists and sisters from Galway, created Spotlight Oral Care, a hugely successful range that includes teeth whitening strips, toothpaste and sonic toothbrushes — 17 products in total to date.
All of their clinically proven formulas are made with clean ingredients, and their packaging is biodegradable; for example, their toothpaste tubes are made from a by-product of sugarcane, which is carbon-negative.
Selling in Ireland, Europe, the UK, and the United States, turnover for the business jumped by 170 per cent last year as Spotlight almost tripled its staff.
