The wives and girlfriends of Ireland’s top rugby stars will have “limited contact” with their hunky other halves as the World Cup campaign gets underway.
The IRFU are keen to keep the focus on the team ahead of the big tournament and are facilitating contact between players and their loved ones – but any contact will have to wait until after games!

Rugby bosses have said they are trying to be as accommodating as possible and will have ‘family rooms’ in the hotels where the players are staying, but all travel will be done separately.
“They will be travelling at different times and for different games,” an IRFU spokesperson told the Irish Mail on Sunday.
“But that is dependent on individual plans of the players. They’ll come in for post match meals, any celebrations, on rest days-we have families’ rooms in the hotels we are using as well.”
This year will see a new arrival of WAGs travelling to Wales next weekend to cheer on their men, including Rob Kearney’s girlfriend of a year and a half, university student Jess Reddan (22); Jonny Sexton’s wife Laura (30) and their son Luca; Ian Madigan’s makeup artist girlfriend Anna Kirwan (22) and Tommy Bowe’s wife Lucy.
