Ed Sheeran was reunited with his childhood best friend, James on Friday night’s Graham Norton Show.

The A Team singer joined joined Christina Ricci, Matthew McConaughey and Josh Widdicombe on the couch last night to chat about his upcoming album Divide.

However, after sharing a number of witty anecdotes with Graham and chatting about his third album, he got the shock of his life when his childhood best friend appeared on Graham’s  red chair.

Although Ed didn’t recognise him straight away when he popped up on the screen, the penny finally dropped with the singer when his former pal James revealed what primary school he went to.

“I went to Brandeston school too!” Ed said. “Did we know each other?”

The singer, who usually wear glasses, moved closer to the screen to get a proper look at James and he got a huge shock when he realised who it was!

“What the f**k he was my best mate growing up! I’m not wearing my specs! Can we just flip him and get him out here?” he said.
