Ed Sheeran has responded to the recent Game of Thrones backlash, revealing he doesn’t care what people think.
The singer made his GOT debut during the first episode of the seventh season, but his short stint was met with mixed reviews by fans.
Almost directly after the show aired, Ed deleted his Twitter account before reactivating it yesterday.
Though many thought the two were linked, the singer has since confirmed that simply wasn’t the case.

“Last I’ll say on this,” he wrote on Instagram. “I came off Twitter because I was always intending to come off Twitter.
“It had nothing to do with what people said about my Game of Thrones cameo, because I am in Games of Thrones, why the hell would i worry what people thought about it? It’s clearly f*ckin’ awesome!
“Timing was just a coincidence, but believe what you want.”
Meanwhile, the show’s director has spoken out in Ed’s defence.
“I think Ed did a lovely job,” he told Newsweek. “He’s a lovely actor, and a lovely person.

“The hoo-ha seems to be from things that are outside of the world of the show.
“In the world of the show he did a lovely job, and he looks like he belongs in that world.
“If people didn’t know who Ed was, they wouldn’t have thought about it twice.”
