Ed Sheeran has been forced to defend his set at Glastonbury after he was accused of using a backing track.
The singer, who is known for using a loop station which plays back what he’s just recorded, had to clarify that everything was live on the night.
Some concert goers and viewers took to Twitter to vent about the performance.
Is it a backing track or invisible musicians?!? Who’s playing when Ed Sheeran stops?!? #GlastonburyFestival

#Glastonbury
Basically it’s Ed Sheeran singing to a backing track.
Couldn’t he get real musicians?
I like him but all a bit karaoke.— William Snootsworth (@Snootsworth) June 25, 2017
think it would have given a better atmosphere if Ed Sheeran had employed a band instead of a backing track? #glastonbury2017 #glastonbury — sam bramwell (@bumfluffboo) June 25, 2017
Ed then took to Twitter himself to clear things up.
It reads: “Never thought I’d have to explain it, but everything I do in my live show is live, it’s a loop station, not a backing track. Please google x”
The 26-year-old then added that he had a ‘great night’ despite the comments.
Fans were quick to jump to Ed’s defence adding that he is known for using his loop pedal.
For the Last time- ED SHEERAN IS USING A LOOP PEDAL. Not a backing track- he’s Laying it down live which is bloody hard.

You’re so good at the loop station that it looks & sounds effortless. We know it takes loads of talent & your live show is incredible /p>— PattyJeanK (@PattyJeanK) June 26, 2017
