Ed Sheeran has been awarded MBE (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) in the Queen’s annual Birthday Honours List.
He received the prestigious honour for his contribution to music and charity.
The superstar posted a screenshot of the news on Instagram and said he was ‘chuffed’.

The caption read: “Chuffed to be awarded an MBE for services to charity and music, thanks for all your lovely messages x”
Ed’s album Divide, which he released earlier this year, became the fastest-selling record by a male artist in history.
Two of the songs on the album give a nod to his Irish heritage with Galway Girl and Nancy Mulligan which was inspired by his Wexford grandmother.
He’s come a long way since sleeping on Jamie Foxx’s couch!
